October small group tour
Emily, your planning from where, when and why to our overnight accommodations could not have been more perfect! The Provence region is a must see for anyone who is interested in history, breathless scenic views and amazing food and wine all of which you delivered to us on a silver platter. You were an exquisite host. I wish you many more successful years hosting future visitors to your part of France.

Our group of 8 women had such a dreamy tour with Emily as our guide. Emily provided a most interesting mix of experiences in the Provence region. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the family of the Manade Laurent Ranch and learning about their competition bulls as well as the horses they raise, and I also found their saddle museum fascinating. Emily also took us to several other picturesque and historic places such as Oppede Le Vieux (I loved learning about the wife of Antoine de Saint Exupery’s stay here during WWII) and the beautiful seaside town of Cassis. We Also viewed from a nearby overlook the town of Gordes-a place so beautiful it looks like a faux backdrop. One of my most favorite experiences that Emily arranged was a cooking class with the darling Chef Clement in Eguilles. Under the cheerful guidance of Chef Clement, we cooked (and enjoyed eating) our delicious lunch of Caramelized onion tart, Canistrelli made with chestnut flour (I didn’t even know there was such a thing), and raspberry and chocolate macarons.
Emily completed careful research on every aspect of the tour. Her choice of lodgings in St. Remy and near Aix En Provence were just wonderful. And Emily’s restaurant selections for both lunch and dinner were always superb. Our dining experiences were excellent, with my favorite being La Telline in Arles, where our fish were cooking in a fireplace as we entered the restaurant and then served to us on the most beautiful woodland scene china by Limoges. Whether Emily was preparing to educate us on the life of Vincent Van Gogh, the aqueduct of Pont de Gard, or the history of Pont d’Avignon, she came well-prepared as our guide and, consequently, offered us a most enriching 8 day in Provence.
