Itinerary

NOTE: This is an example itinerary.

Day 1
  • Pick-up at either Marseille Provence Airport or Avignon TGV Train Station.
  • Transfer to your choice accommodation
  • Half-day tour possible before transfer to your lodging depending on arrival time
Day 2
  • Luberon hilltop villages and luscious valleys…today we embark on a journey to the villages on the hills, the castles and churches standing proudly at the top, and the remnants of ramparts still apparent in the circular layout of the village. On the routes there are many amazing vistas points and we’ll make some gourmet stops as well (wine, olive oil, & crystalized fruit)
  • Return to your lodging and dinner on your own
Day 3
  • The Alpilles region gets its name from the mountain range running long and narrow and jagged at the top like the Alpes (Alpilles means « little Alpes). Here we trace two different time eras: the Romans and Van Gogh. Along the routes, we can also incorporate wine & olive oil
  • Return to your lodging and dinner on your own
Day 4
  • Before leaving Provence to your next best destination, one more day in Provence to explore what interests you the most. Perhaps you’d like to taste the famous Côtes-du-Rhône wines and see the villages that give the names to the Cru wines (Gigondas, Châteaneuf-du-Pape, Seguret).
  • Or perhaps you’d like to see the Camargue region to photograph the flamingoes, white horses, and the mosaic of textures in Europe’s largest river delta (not to mention it’s also a UNESCO wildlife reserve)
Day 5
  • Transfer to TGV train station or Marseille airport
    • Possibility to have private transfer to Nice should you be interested in exploring the Côtes d’Azur

five star review
""Our guided trip with Emily was different from the typical tour of Provence. We wanted the trip to mostly involve hiking, but still give us an opportunity to spend some time in small villages. Each day we hiked somewhere and in the evening we were on our own to explore the various towns we stayed in.  Provence is a wonderful place to hike. In the north it looks similar to Colorado with exceptional scenery. Emily appeared to know every trail. We avoided the 'tourist' areas, usually hiking withou…"

"We spent almost a year planning our trip with Emily by email. She was patient and thorough guiding us in creating a truly personalized tour. From amazing lodging, brocantes, lavender sites, hikes, historical sites, vineyards and top restaurants, we had the perfect vacation! This may sound unusual to say, but Emily moved each day at a great pace, neither were we hurried nor were we late to any reservation. We especially enjoyed our conversations with Emily as we traveled along the narrow Luberon…"

""Emily worked  with me to create a personalized one-week itinerary that went beyond our expectations. She handled all aspects of our trip with a professional , low-key manner.  The hotels were outstanding and dining was authentic.  The luxury vehicle was very comfortable to travel in as well. ""We spent a wonderful day with Emily as our guide touring the “Hill towns of the Luberon”. Our time with Emily was like spending a day with a family friend who gave us a personal tour of her adopted home. ""What a beautiful day with Emily and Your Private Provence wine tour. Having been to the region before, two friends and I were interested in a deeper dive into what made this region so well suited for wine. She really listened to our interests and designed a really fun, insightful and rich day. We honestly expected a driver to just drop us off at several wineries and got so much more. Loved the cultural and geological history, the insights of a local to life in Provence, and a diverse sampling…"
