Provence Wellness Retreat
The French art de vivre to restore mind, body, and soul…
Next Wellness retreat in the making for 2018 – please contact Emily if you are interested in coming to Provence on a wellness retreat…
Sometimes we just need to stop, step back and retreat to find ourselves again…to re-engage in the simple pleasures in life that once fueled our energy.
It’s all about recharging
This retreat is all about using our senses to reconnect with our mind, body, and spirit. The richness and diversity in Provence make it a perfect place for rediscovery! Enjoy:
- Healthy meals with regional specialties
- Wine discovery classes (aroma and taste learning)
- Wellness massages and spa afternoon at Spa Ventoux
- Fitness (stretching, toning) classes on the sun deck
- Daily walks through the countryside
- Private and group coaching sessions with certified life coach
- Cultural excursions in the land of Provence
The coaching element
The coaching is a person-centered approach and aimed at helping each person (re)discover who they are and where they are going. Greater self-awareness and deeper life-skill aptitudes often come when we meet others and seek the guidance of a friend, life coach or sometimes even a stranger.

Nestled at the foot of the Mt. Ventoux in the heart of Provence, is La Madelene: originally a Benedictine priory dating from the late 12th century. The monks – the Saint-Benoit de Capella – arrived here from Lyons and stayed until the 15th century.
Today, after extensive restoration in Provencal charm, it’s the perfect venue for retreats. The ancient walls, its dining room that served as the arched chapel and the surrounding orchards and vineyards cultivate the perfect frame of mind for revitalization. The Villa receives the Trip Advisor Excellence Award every year and many guests come back for their restoration in this haven. Read more about the villa here.

Emily grew up in Southern Oregon then spent 5 years in Seattle to earn her degree in Sociology/Anthropology plus her teaching credentials. During her 3rd year in Seattle, she met a Frenchman. The rest, as we say, is history.
Her natural curiosity for life and love for adventure have led her down the road of hosting unique vacations and retreats in Provence.
The Provence Wellness Retreat is where her heart is as she strongly believes in travel as a means to restoring and building are often burnt out and fragile state of mind.
In 2015 she hosted a Women’s Energize Retreat – a 9-day coaching tour through three different regions in Provence. Travel and cultural discoveries were the metaphors used to help each woman find their inner voice. The feedback was positive and each woman used the retreat in Provence as a pivotal moment – ready to embrace the next best chapter in their lives.
Emily is excited to provide the next Provence Wellness Retreat at La Madelene – a venue perfectly designed for mindfulness with a team wholly inspired to give the best of Provence to others.

Travel & General Information
Group pick-up will be at the Avignon TGV train station at 2 pm. This meeting point makes it easy for people traveling down from Paris on the TGV (fast train from Paris to Avignon is 2 hours and 40 minutes).
Possibility for pick-up at Marseille airport is also available (not included in retreat price).
It’s recommended to arrive in France the day before the retreat starts to allow time for any jet lag and perhaps any bags that didn’t come in on your flight.
Airline tickets are not included in the retreat price. You may either fly into Paris (CDG) to take the TGV down to Avignon or you may fly into Marseille (MRS) and taxi to Avignon (45 min. drive). If you have further questions on logistics please don’t hesitate to ask Emily.
Group transportation will be in a 9-passenger van. It is necessary to pack lightly (one medium-sized suitcase and one carry-on per person).
Group drop-off will be at the Avignon TGV train station after breakfast on the last day of retreat (if you need a drop-off time outside the group transfer time there may be an extra fee).
Travel insurance is recommended to cover any unforeseen circumstances that cause you to cancel (illness, injury, death, etc.) Remember that travel insurance must be purchased immediately after purchasing your airline tickets or making your deposit for the retreat (whichever you do first).
