Sunday 17, Day 1
Pick-up at Avignon TGV train station at 10am. Arrive in Chateauneuf-du-Pape at 10:30 for our first winery visit. Free time to roam at your leisure in the village and stop at one of the quaint cafés or restaurants for lunch. You will also enjoy climbing to the top where the remains of the Pope’s Chateau give a marvelous view of the Rhone River valley.
After lunch we will drive to our charming B&B in Vaison-la-Romain near the town center. After checking into your room we will meet in the common room for a special Goûter (a pairing of sweet gourmandises with red wines and sweet wines by the owner of the B&B who is a wine expert himself). Just so you know now – you need not get dessert when ordering lunch in Chateauneuf-du-Pape!
Dinner together in the village of Vaison.
A special treat for our first full day of the Provence Wine Tour! A domain in Vacqueyras, Le Clos de Caveau, will open its doors for us to help with the wine picking and then proceed with a tasting and special prepared meal by the winegrower at his home.
Return to Vaison for free time in village after lunch. Dinner at wine bar in village with local charcuterie and cheeses.
Tuesday 19, Day 3
Seguret village tour with historical anecdotes from your guide & wine tour at Mourchon (wine walk and picnic in the vineyard).
In the afternoon we’ll step inside a Bio-Dynamic Wine grower domain, Montirius (the 1st certified bio-dynamic for Gigondas & Vacqueyras). Here we will have the incredible opportunity to learn about wine with a hands-on workshop by the winegrowers themselves.
Changing regions today with a drive to Saint Remy de Provence for the morning market and then lunch in the village as you wish.
After your lunch in Saint Remy we’ll take a short drive to Mas de la Dame for wine tasting in the wine AOC Les Baux de Provence.
Drive to the Luberon to our B&B for the next three nights. Free time to enjoy the pool and then dinner at Emily’s favorite Luberon village restaurant.
We will be staying in the Luberon today but crossing to the south side. We’ll begin our day with a Grape Stomp and then picnic style lunch at the stomping grounds. In the afternoon we’ll switch gears (no more wine for a couple of hours) for a tour through Lourmarin and then a unique tour at an herb farm. Dinner together at one of Emily’s favorite village restaurants.
Friday 22, Day 6
Electric bikes or have the same tour in the car – It’s your choice today. All the wineries can be toured either with me as your personal chauffeur or opt for the electric bike tour. Chateau La Canorgue, Domaine de la Citadelle and Domaine de Marie. In between wine domaine tours and tastings we’ll visit a few of the Luberon gems like Menerbes and Oppede-le-Vieux. Farewell dinner near the B&B.
